City of Racine, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department
The City of Racine Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department (PRCS) is a division of the City of Racine government. We manage parks and beaches totaling over 1,100 acres, five community centers, and many other facilities, providing a wide variety of recreational opportunities.
It is our mission to preserve our parks and open spaces and provide essential recreational programs and cultural services in a safe, professional and friendly manner.
There are eleven appointed citizens serving the community as commissioners for the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Board. The Board holds its regular meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 5:15 p.m. Residents are invited to attend and are welcome to make suggestions or comments. For further information and location, call (262) 636-9131 or visit the Legislative Calendar for a schedule of upcoming meetings.
You’ve been enjoying the City of Racine parks for years. Maybe you thought of something we NEED while swimming in the lake. Maybe you participated in the Playground program as a child and would like to help other families know how their children can have memories to last a lifetime. Did you know there’s an easy way to share your experience, ideas, and help the community thrive?
We need people like you - people who see opportunity and have a passion for making a difference. People who want to NOT just be a set of eyes and ears in the community, but also a voice. People to join our team.
What team are we talking about? How do you join? Become a part of the Board of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, and join a team that shares their interests, passions, and ideas. Become a part of making a difference.
We’re looking for community members to join our board. Applying is easy (easier than finding a sub on Friday night). Just click the link below to complete the application on line. We can’t wait for you to join us!
