Even moderate-income families may need financial assistance with the purchase of their home.
Various financial assistance programs exist to help you, the buyer. Housing Resources, Inc., will be able to give you information on a variety of programs currently available through local lenders, such as down payment assistance, closing cost assistance or in some cases, no closing costs at all!
Many assistance programs are in the form of a forgivable loan, requiring the buyer to remain living in their home for a set period of time. Other programs may match a portion of your savings to be used for down payment.
Don’t be afraid to ask or shop around to the local lenders for the product that best fits your needs. If you are not sure ask your Homebuyer Educator for assistance; they are there to help as much as you request of them.
