    Hello, I'm Dottie-Kay Bowersox, Racine's Public Health Administrator. Welcome to the City of Racine Health Department website. Our objective is to serve you and promote a healthy community in Racine.

    Check this site for information on health issues, plus resources to keep your family, home, business, and the community safe. We offer informative documents that you can open on your computer or print for easy reference; many are available in Spanish or other languages.

    One way to promote a healthy community is by providing recreational opportunities such as a visit to the beach. North Beach is one of Racine's two Lake Michigan bathing beaches. It was the first Blue Wave Certified beach in Wisconsin and the second on the Great Lakes, holding that honor continuously since 2004. North Beach has been recognized elsewhere as well, including as one of the "Top 7 Urban Beaches in the Midwest" and "25 Coolest Midwest Lake Vacation Spots" by Midwest Living Magazine.
