Cultural Events

Every year the City of Racine is host to an array of highly popular and unique cultural events. Some of the most popular of these are highlighted below. For an up-to-date listing of events, contact the Racine County Convention and Visitors' Bureau.


Animal Crackers Jazz Series

Enjoy some smooth jazz on a warm summer night overlooking Lake Michigan. All profits from the series go to benefit the Racine Zoo.

Wednesday performances to be scheduled in June, July and August. CLICK HERE for more information.

Located on 32 acres along the banks of Lake Michigan, the Racine Zoo is one of the finest institutions of its kind in the Midwest. The Zoo's mission is to foster an enlightening and affordable wildlife experience that improves the bond between people and nature. The Zoo provides for the recreation and education of the public, the conservation of wildlife and wild places, and the advancement of science. Special Events are scheduled throughout the year and educational programs and facility rentals are available by request.

DNR Fish Egg-Taking Facility is open for viewing during the following fish species spawning runs:

  Chambers Creek Steelhead

Colonial Park

The Racine Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services, in conjunction with the YWCA River Bend Nature Center, offers programs for school and preschool classes in Spring and Fall. For more information call (262) 639-0930. Colonial Park's 68 acres of forest, prairie and wetland make an ideal site for experiencing the richness of the natural world and learning about its animal inhabitants.
