Animal Crackers Jazz SeriesEnjoy some smooth jazz on a warm summer night overlooking Lake Michigan. All profits from the series go to benefit the Racine Zoo. Wednesday performances to be scheduled in June, July and August. CLICK HERE for more information. Performers and dates to be announced. Main Street Located on 32 acres along the banks of Lake Michigan, the Racine Zoo is one of the finest institutions of its kind in the Midwest. The Zoo provides for the recreation and education of the public, the conservation of wildlife and wild places, and the advancement of science. Colonial ParkThe Racine Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services, in conjunction with the YWCA River Bend Nature Center, offers programs for school and preschool classes in Spring and Fall. Colonial Park's 68 acres of forest, prairie and wetland make an ideal site for experiencing the richness of the natural world and learning about its animal inhabitants.
